About
About our foodbank
Here is an introduction to our project.
Downham Market & District Foodbank exists to support individuals and families across our town and surrounding villages with compassion, dignity, and care. Run by Eternity Downham Market in partnership with other local organisations, the Foodbank is a community-led service responding to local need.
The Foodbank is overseen by a dedicated board of volunteers who ensure the centre runs smoothly, supported by two staff members who manage the day-to-day operations. Together, we are committed to creating a welcoming, respectful environment for everyone who comes through our doors.
As we serve a largely rural area, we recognise that need doesn’t stop at the edge of the town. Alongside our main centre in Downham Market, we now operate a satellite distribution centre in Stoke Ferry, with a growing vision to reach every village across the district so that no one is left isolated or unsupported.
The Foodbank was originally part of King’s Lynn Foodbank, and as demand grew locally, Eternity Downham Market stepped in to take on the full running of the service, allowing it to grow and develop to better meet the needs of our community.
